PROJECT MANAGER – STUDIO & PROJECT DELIVERY

Reports to: Founder / Studio Director
Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time (20–32 hours/week initially)
Experience Level: 5–8 years professional experience

Role Purpose

OPRCH is a small, design-driven architecture practice focused on mission-aligned, cultural, nonprofit, and purpose-led work. We are seeking a Project Manager with 5–8 years of experience who is comfortable wearing multiple hats and taking ownership of technical documentation and quality control in a small studio environment.

Working directly with the Studio Director, this role plays a critical part in maintaining OPRCH’s high standards of design, clarity, and communication with our clients, community, and project partners. This position is intended as a pathway for future leadership, offering (and requiring) multi-layered mentorship within an empowering, and equitable studio environment.

Our projects fully integrate Landscape, Urban Design, and Architecture. A background in Architecture is assumed, however, specialization in any of the above will be given full consideration. We are devoted to inventive public and private space solutions including creative workspaces, residences, ecologically responsive garden/planting design, art installations, and public placemaking.

What You’ll Do

  • Prepare and manage architectural drawing sets, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and technical integrity

  • Own quality control (QA/QC) across all project phases, including documentation review and coordination

  • Prepare and manage proposals, bid submissions, contracts, and invoices

  • Coordinate RFQs/RFPs and public bids, including schedules, requirements, and submissions

  • Manage drawing packages, submittals, and RFIs during construction administration

  • Provide technical and design guidance to junior team members

  • Participate in design reviews and support translation of design intent into buildable work

  • Improve and maintain internal workflows and documentation standards to support studio growth

  • Engage directly with multi-cultural communities to support mission-based projects

What We Are Looking For

  • 5–7 years of professional experience in Architecture or a related design practice

  • Demonstrated experience with well-coordinated architectural drawing sets, quality control, and documentation

  • Experience preparing proposals, bid proposals, contracts, and invoices

  • Experience supporting or guiding at least one junior team member

  • Qualified candidates will be adept in AutoCAD, REVIT, Adobe Creative Suite, and Rhinoceros (or compatible 3D modeling software)

  • An optimistic and enthusiastic contributor

  • Must bring excellent design and graphic skills, work ethic, dedication to internal and external collaboration, as well as a commitment to community engagement in a multi-cultural setting.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills - in particular, the ability to discuss design with constituents and project partners without design backgrounds

  • Comfort working across multiple project phases in a small-team setting

  • The role is designed for someone who values quality, clarity, and responsibility

  • Candidates must be available to work on-site in our Worcester-based office

Not Required, But Great to Have

  • Spanish language proficiency is highly valued, and multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

  • Licensure is not required. Progress toward licensure is encouraged

  • Strong candidates will bring unique capabilities to the table. Examples include: grant writing, Passive House certification, horticultural practice, fabrication, video production, lighting design, screen-printing, graphic design, or other individual interest/obsession.

What Are We About?

  • OPRCH is dedicated to socially-engaged, culturally-grounded spaces that transform cities and communities. We seek out opportunities to work with clients and constituents that have not historically had access to high-quality design, to produce resonant, empowering spaces.

Why This Role?

  • We actively seek candidates who can contribute diverse perspectives to our practice

  • We value the distinct capabilities of every member of the team. Good work will reflect collective design ownership across projects, as well as the visibility of individual contributions

  • We pair design thinking with tactical approaches to maximize impact. We will work hand-in-hand with our clients to secure capital and materials, so that even the most resource-constrained visions can become reality

  • We operate outside market sectors and typical project types, delivering one-of-a-kind architectural works for unique clients

  • Multi-layered mentorship within the company is central to our growth ethic. Long-term leadership is encouraged and based on contributions to a vibrant, collaborative studio environment

  • Opportunity to shape a growing studio
