The design of the Elmira Corning Regional Airport embeds the Security Checkpoint and Departure Lounges into a naturalistic landscape at the heart of the airport, transforming the worst experiences of air travel into the best. Rather than a stressful part of the traveling experience, navigating an airport is made to feel like a walk through New York’s Southern Tier. 

Penn Ruderman led the design of the Elmira Corning Regional Airport for the office of Fennick McCredie Architecture.
